Election Training Resources


Harris County Clerk's Office Elections Department provides comprehensive instruction and documentation prior to every election. In our Vote Centers, Election Workers serve as the face of the Department, providing best-in-class customer service. We are committed to supporting our Election workers with the training and resources they need to successfully serve Harris County voters.

In-Person Training

We will offer in-person training for the May 26th primary runoff only. In order to work the primary election, all Election Workers will need to have either trained and worked in November 2025 or March 2026.

  • The Election Worker Certification Program (EWCP) will be beginning this Spring!
  • The first phase of the EWCP will begin in the second half of April 2026.
  • The new certification program will NOT be an assessment.
  • The new certification program will be (2) one day training courses at the Elections Headquarters on Morales Road. One course will occur in April/May, and the other in September/October.
  • Each one-day training session will consist of a six hour session with a one-hour lunch (on your own) each day. The training will consist of one interactive, scenario-based training experience, two Texas Election Code deep-dives, and (3) in-depth studies on forms and procedures.
  • There will be 300 seats available for the second phase of the EWCP. Those who participated in the Pilot Phase will be offered a registration slot first and may accept or decline the opportunity to continue.
  • Registration for the second phase of the EWCP has begun, if you are interested, please click the link below. Approval from recruitment is required for participation and you will be contacted once approval is given.

Getting Hired

Join an elite group of Election Workers who help spread democracy across Harris County. Election Workers are trained to provide ballots to voters and ensure the integrity of in person voting in Harris County. You can help support and ensure fair and safe elections by serving as a Election Worker at a voting location near you.
