May 24 Election is in a few days

(Houston, TX) –– On Tuesday, May 24, Harris County Elections and election workers are supporting 260 polling locations to ensure eligible Harris County voters have an opportunity to cast a ballot between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Voters are encouraged to go to www.HarrisVotes.com to find their nearest polling places and look up wait times at each location. The office also suggests voters visit the office’s “Sample Ballot” page to see what exactly will be on their ballot based on their address. Voters are not permitted to use electronic devices at the voting booth but can print out their sample ballot or bring their notes on paper. Also listed on the website are the accepted forms of identification (bottom of page) to bring to the polling location. Voters do not need to bring their voter registration card to vote.

Voters submitting a mail ballot must have their ballot postmarked by May 24 and delivered by the mail carrier by 4:30 p.m. May 25. If delivering their ballot in-person, voters can only submit their own ballot (not on behalf of a spouse, close family member, or anyone else) at 1001 Preston, Houston, Texas 77002, by 7 p.m. on May 24. There is a curbside service for the convenience of voters’ choosing the in-person option.
