Voter Registration Clerk

Position Description

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Verify and process Voter Registration Applications and documents.
  • Issue Voter Registration Certificates.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide customers with information regarding voter registration.
  • Process telephone requests from voters.
  • Provide general election information to the public including but not limited to the precinct number, polling location, dates/hours/location of Early Voting and Election Day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Alpha and Numeric Proficiency
  • Excellent listening, reading comprehension, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work without supervision and function in a team environment
  • Ability to learn and retain large amounts of information
  • Basic PC Skills and experience
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance

• Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:  

  • Seasonal Temporary Employment | Anticipated End Date: December 2, 2022 
  • Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
    • Hours could change – applicant needs to be flexible 
    • Approximately 38 to 40 hours a week

Salary:

  • $15.00/HR
  • Based on 26 pay periods
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Minor physical effort required, which may involve periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, lifting less than 20 lbs or similar activities (e.g., filing, delivering, sorting)
  • May require attendance at outside training seminars and/or conferences
  • Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
