Election Technician


Position Description

Mission: The Harris County Elections Administrator (EA) is committed to serving Harris County residents by providing essential voter registration and election services in an equitable, accessible, secure, and transparent manner. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility is supporting all aspects of the Election Technology Center operations. 
  • Interacting with various election officials and providing them with accurate and timely support. 
  • Preparing election equipment and supplies for elections. 
  • Delivery of election equipment. 
  • Utilization of computer applications.
  • Receiving and backing up equipment after elections. 
  • Facility maintenance. 
  • Work with other departments within the organization.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to work under stress.
  • Must be able to work as a team.
  • Have some knowledge to be able to interpret laws, policies, and procedures.

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:  Regular - Full-time (Typically Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M to 4:30 P.M. Overtime hours as required, overtime and alternative scheduling is likely during scheduled voting) 
Work Environment: 
  • This job operates in a professional warehouse environment
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filling cabinets. forklifts, pallet jacks, power tools
Physical Demands:
  • Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Stand for long periods

Salary Range:

  • $15.89 - $22.68/ Hour
  • Depends on Qualifications
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and  meeting other standards.
